Tales of a Foodie in London

According to many travel guides England is a terrible place for food. Not so!

Not only have I been majorly impressed by the Pret Mangers on every
corner (1.50 for fresh shrimp/avocado sandwiches or
chicken/bacon/tomato sandwiches, $2.50 for fresh Italian paninis and
hot Swedish sausage sandwiches with veggies and gravy, .99 for fruit
cups – all fresh and quick to go) but I tried some finer dining
tonight, and it was awesome as well!

After my failed attempt to have high tea, I cruised Kensington Street,
and found all sorts of ethnic eateries, funky wine bars, and fancy
continental style restaurants for the stylish yet not-so-rich.

In fact, if there was no such thing as the exchange rate, I think you
could eat just as well in London for cheaper! I spent less than 15 lbs
at each place I went to tonight on my 3-course pub crawl . . . it was
fatty’s night out . . . and I got a lot of taste for my buck. Dolmas,
calamari, foccacia with marinara, wine, beer, champagne . . . I even
got the beautiful looking tart for free from the waiter. I told him I
was a food critic back at home . . . that’s sort of true, right? I
yelp and all.
