One thing I have to give Prague credit for is the abundance of
classical music. And not just in concert halls. You can find brilliant
musicians lining the streets of Prague at almost any hour of the day,
and for under $20 you can attend concerts in all of the beautiful old
churches lining the main streets.
this beautiful church by Charles's Bridge last night. It was so
beautiful, and I enjoyed it so much I found myself wondering, why
don't I do this sort of thing more often? The ensemble played Ave Maria, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Bach's Air,
and many others. Something about it all being in a church made the
whole thing feel very spiritual, and I found myself doing a lot of
thinking throughout the piece. People around me were tearing up so I guess it wasn't just
me. For $16, this musical group was really really good. I am so glad I went, and when I get back to the States I will definitely make more
of an effort to see classical music live. I haven't been that
touched by a performance in some time, and I think I have definitely been missing out. I love the appreciation they have for all the old world music here.
