This apparently includes beer. And boiled veal sausage.
I was not aware of this when I went to the recommended local Bavarianrestaurant and asked for a cappuccino and "the breakfast." They had no
breakfast menu, so I was sort of at the mercy of what was brought to
me. The first thing I noticed as I sipped my cappuccino was that everyone
around me had a half liter of beer. I was the only person at 8:30am
drinking a coffee. And this was not a restaurant full of kids. There were grandparents,
single guys, groups of 20-30 year old friends, families with children
. . . I was literally the only one with out a beer besides the
children. Someone next to me even poured me a little of their
beer to try because it was upsetting him so much that I didn't try the
Weisswurst with the Weiss-beer. As for the rest of the meal, it was really social because we were all
sitting at long picnic style tables with unrelated groups all sharing
the same space, the same basket of giant pretzels, and the same sweet
mustard. I got this tin of boiling sausage, which I found out was made
of veal, and was told to peel it out of the skin before I ate it. Very
very very different than the European toast+cheese+salami+fruit
breakfast I had gotten used to.
