I am sort of embarressed about how disappointed I was when I arrived
in Lyon - it's actually a very beautiful city. Although this morning started off gray and windy, and although all the
nail salons in town are closed on Mondays (I am wondering if I should
resign myself to having homeless looking toes) by mid-afternoon it was
an absolutely gorgeous day. Plus, I stumbled into the right part of
town, and it was exactly as I imagined a "French" city to be. Cute little bouchons, wine bars, libraries, extremely chic looking
stores, I am so happy I stuck it out, and gave the city another
chance. Even though my heart is with the villages, there is so much to
see in the cities that it would be a shame to not take full advantage.
