We just got to San Sebastian, and all I can say is that I am so
excited about the next three days. First of all, our hotel, Hotel Donosti, is AMAZING. The owner speaks
English (which is such a refreshing change after the last 3 days of
living in Spanish) and our room is light, clean, airy, and has a great
view with a terrace. We're back to having a full kitchen, and free,
easy-to-use wifi. I can already feel myself relaxing and we haven't even left the hotel
yet. I think I'm going to love San Sebastian. First of all, we're getting here right in the middle of the Film
Festival, so we may check out some of the films in the competition. We
may even run into some celebrities. Secondly, San Sebastian is a much more international city than
Logrono, so we'll run into people who speak all different languages -
including English! Thirdly, the culture here is Basque, so it's a whole new culture to
learn, a whole new culinary situation to sample, and a whole new
language to not understand.
