Tomorrow I meet up with Dan. My solo adventure is almost over.
The "me" of last month was disappointed that I only had one month ofalone time, but the "me" who has spent the last month exploring Northern
Europe alone is VERY ready to have company. I have realized that life
is so much better when you have people (that you like) to share it
with. Even for just the practical reasons -
2 people can share a hotel room for the same price as one person in a
hostel dorm. 2 people can reasonably order a bottle of wine at a
restaurant. 2 people can take turns running to the bathroom and
watching the stuff. 2 people can keep each other company at the laundry
mat, or on a train, or in a line. 2 people can keep an eye out for each other. 2 people can take turns taking the pictures. 2 people can
commiserate when things suck, and can congratulate when something works
out well. 2 people can have inside jokes.
arrival, but the most important reason is not very practical at all.
I've definitely realized how much I appreciate having Dan in my life,
and now that I know we're going to be spending the rest of our lives
together, I would hate for him not to be able to share in this amazing
experience. So, I had my last "table for one" tonight - tomorrow, I will be
meeting up with Dan in Venice :-)
