Did you know apricots have seeds, like a pumpkin? No?Well I didn't either so don't feel bad, but apparently that is the other specialty (besides wine) of the Wachau Valley. Apricots and all associated products. I had so many different varieties of schnapps, liquors, and jams from all kinds of crazy fruits while in Wachau Valley, but the thing that the locals seemed the most proud of were their roasted apricot seeds. With chili oil, salt, cinnamon, and all sorts of other awesomeness. I couldn't possibly have brought enough home with me, so I decided that when I get back I am going to learn to make these.
